Ronda – our little ‘nose bear’… or a bit like Alf? 🧡
Ronda is one of those who gets overlooked in the shelter for far too long. She spent a long time at the shelter in Valencia. Nobody wanted her. Perhaps because she’s not a “run-of-the-mill beauty.” Perhaps because she simply looks different. I saw her – and fell in love immediately.
And that’s when her story truly began… Ronda was seriously ill: mammary tumors, bad teeth, a terrible fistula that ran from her mouth all the way up to her nose. Pus was draining from her nose – her little body was marked by everything she had been through. But we fought. For her.
Operations, treatments, teeth, tumors – step by step, we helped her. And Ronda? She endured everything with a calmness and gentleness that is almost impossible to describe.
Today, she is doing well. She still has a small growth above her eye – nothing dramatic, but something we would like to have treated if we can find support for it. Because after all she’s been through, Ronda simply deserves one thing: a calm, safe, and loving life. She is an incredibly gentle, cuddly, and quiet dog. So full of love, so grateful – simply special.
And yes… she has something very unique about her. A vet once laughed and said: “She looks just like Alf!” And even pulled out pictures to show me. And honestly? It’s a little bit true. Since then, for us, she’s sometimes simply: Ronda, our little ‘nose bear.’ Our ‘Alfine.’ 🧡
Unfortunately, Ronda once had a sponsor. But for personal reasons, that sponsorship ended. And that’s exactly why we’re now looking for someone who’s serious. A reliable sponsor who will accompany Ronda. Who will stay. Who will be there. Who will take responsibility. For an animal who had to wait so long. And who has finally found her place.
